The history of modernism is a history of self-repair. This has been playing out between the institutions and the priests forever. The institutions of art, consisting of nothing more than a dense network of people and documentation, have limited the physics of sentience.

The conscious attempt to subvert the fast growing contemporary art market can't distance itself from christianity.
But Silicon Valley need not be part of that problem. Schools, through professionalization and accreditation, have chosen to push artists further into debt, to support a market-defined notion of artistic success, and to misrepresent themselves as bastions of free thought to their students.

Readymade is a distributed object with origin and trail (provenance).
Primary sources flow among peer sites based on interest (what people read/link/fork), not on explicit queries.
Prefer scale and resilience over strict global agreement: readymades consist of divergent—but valid—copies.
Use placeholders for things you don’t have yet; resolve them lazily when they appear in your neighborhood.
Elevate authority by forking and editing locally; others can later pull your version if it interests them.
Manage connections, bandwidth, and storage with simple heuristics that bias toward pages the community actually cares about.
